As Phelps Dodge Philippines relentlessly strives for innovation in the electrical industry, it has also continuously expanded this commitment to finding opportunities to contribute to providing a better quality of life by to support different sectors in our communities through in-kind donations of electrical wires along with other related materials for various safety and community development efforts across the country.
From May to August 2026, Phelps Dodge has released ₱76k worth of electrical materials supporting six community initiatives across Luzon, North Mindanao, Davao, and Bicol, these include community electrical safety programs and rewiring initiatives like Oplan Dagitab, and other initiatives led by the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE).
The donations included THHN/THWN-2 building wires, NM-Type Cables, and PVC electrical tape, providing long-term protection to communities, schools, and the future.
Among the PDP-supported initiatives was the Barangay Electrician Safety Seminar in Nabua, Bicol Region, where PDP donated THHN/THWN-2 wires and 6-meter PVC electrical tapes to support the promotion of safer electrical practices among electricians in the area. Similarly, the company also donated electrical materials to Oplan Dagitab in Bicol and in GMA, which was hosted by IIEE, respectively, which also focused on electrical safety.
In Northern Mindanao and IIEE Baguio, Phelps Dodge contributed NM-types cables and PVC tape to an Oplan Brigada Eskwela and Bigay Liwanag, and Brigada Eskwela program, respectively. These initiatives contributed to efforts in helping prepare schools and communities in the coming school year.
Lastly, Phelps Dodge also provided support in the IIEE Davao 50th Anniversary celebration through the donation of THHN/THWN-2 wires in different sizes and colors, further reinforcing the company’s deep relationship with professionals and experts within the electrical industry.
