Role

The Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting and selling Phelps Dodge wires and cables within assigned areas or sectors, ensuring sales targets are met, and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sales and Promotion:

Promotes and sells Phelps Dodge products to customers in the assigned area, achieving the target sales quota within the prescribed marginal income (MI).

Coordinates with the plant and logistics to ensure timely delivery of orders.

Engages in active relationship-building with key industry influencers to strengthen brand loyalty and increase market penetration.

Strategy and Forecasting:

Collaborates with the Sales Manager/Supervisor to prepare and implement sales strategies and budgets.

Prepares and submits monthly sales and collection forecasts.

Customer Management and Support:

Discusses ongoing transactions and resolves collection issues with the immediate superior.

Leads the resolution of customer complaints by coordinating with Technical Services and/or Logistics as necessary.

Prepares and submits quotations based on customers’ requirements, ensuring compliance with pricing guidelines.

Market Intelligence:

Monitors and reports on competitor activities and market trends.

Maintains detailed records of sales activities, including sales calls, customer interactions, and market insights.

Job Requirements

Graduate of any Engineering course, with preference given to Electrical Engineering graduates.

Previous sales experience is highly advantageous, particularly in a business-to-business setting.

Strong communication and mathematical skills are essential.

Proficiency in MS Office Applications, specifically Excel, is required.

Possession of a valid driver's license and driving skills is optional but not required.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Critical thinking skills, organization, excellent time management, and a proactive attitude are key attributes.
