Accounting Team Leader

Role

The Accounting Team Leader manages daily finance operations, ensuring accurate reporting, auditing, and tax compliance while driving team development and operational efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

Policy and Procedure Oversight:

  • Ensures strict adherence and regular updates to accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency.

Finance Reporting and Analysis:

  • Reviews and verifies accuracy of financial documents and reports.
  • Coordinates the preparation of financial statements, productivity reports, and sales analysis for management review.
  • Ensures all accounting transactions comply with the local financial regulations, GAAP, and company policies.
  • Leads the internal and external audit processes, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Manages the preparation and review of financial forecasts and budgets.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Oversees the completion of all tax filings and ensures compliance with all local tax regulations and deadlines.
  • Leads tax audits and physical inventory counts to ensure regulatory compliance.

Leadership and Development:

  • Manages the accounting team's performance, initiating process improvements and cost control measures.
  • Holds regular meetings to ensure goals alignment and fosters a team-oriented environment.
  • Identifies training needs and organizes developmental programs to enhance team skills.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensures adherence to all safety procedures and policies within the department.

General Responsibilities:

Performs additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting.
  • At least two years in a supervisory role with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills; capable of conducting effective presentations and reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal controls.
